According to the manual for the Life/form CHARLIE Neonatal Simulator: "The umbilical stump features a patent umbilical vein and one patent umbilical artery. Up to 5 ml of fluid or simulated blood may be infused into, or withdrawn from, the umbilical reservoir through either vessel."
